Actions::Katello::Host::Update stacking up

Latest response

So, for a while now, we've had frequent issues with Satellite crashing, specifically foreman-tasks queues up way too many tasks. As I type this, there are 957 tasks of this label currently running in our Satellite environment, which obviously, the satellite cannot handle. Has anyone else had issues with this, or found a way to achieve relief?

What version of Satellite are you using at the moment David? 6.2, 6.3? I ask because there's a bugzilla for 6.2.11 https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1486375. That may or may not be your issue though.

Also wild stab here examine this article https://access.redhat.com/solutions/1381053 to see if it does or does not apply.

In any case, do open a case with Red Hat since it is supported.

I just started tuning my Red Hat Satellite server because apparently, I didn't have enough pulp workers. Tuning is different for each person's scenario (most likely) so it's best to evaluate it.

Now your issue may not be tuning either... that was just a thought. do a "foreman-tail" and see if anything stands out. Run a foreman-debug too https://access.redhat.com/solutions/1177823

We are using Version 6.3.2, seems like it's not related to the articules you are refering to due it's supposed it was patched on this latest version, also this issu has been present in our environment for about 3 minor versions old since 6.1
