Please Help - RHEL 7.3 NVidia offline install
Hi all,
I have a HP elite workstation to which i am trying to offline install the NVidia drivers. (The machine cannot go online at all)
I did download an rpm - 'nvidia-diag-driver-local-repo-rhel7-396.44-1.0-1.x86_64.rpm' and used the 'rpm -ivh' command to install.
This appeared to install it, however the driver is still on the old version. I am attempting to install the driver so that dual monitors will be available as currently the second display is not being recognised.
Please could someone give me a step by step install process as i am fairly amateur when it comes to RHEL

Hi Guy,
There are several tutorials how to install the proprietary NVIDIA drivers on Red Hat based systems in different ways available, just
perform a web search. Using a "nvidia-diag-driver-local-repo" is mostly not the preferred option. The other day I pointed another
user to a working solution (just see my first response) : https://access.redhat.com/discussions/3565451 I wish you good luck. :)

Hi Guy,
Oh, what I forgot - NVIDIA released a new version of the short-lived branch drivers yesterday : NVIDIA Linux Driver 396.54
Here are all instructions how to install : NVIDIA Accelerated Linux Graphics Driver 396.54 README and Installation Guide
Unfortunately you didn't provide further details about your hardware - which HP model - which GPU - Optimus, or not ... :)

Christian
