Yes, there's a package in EPEL: https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/EPEL

Thanks! :)

Hi GD,

As you are asking every now and then if something can be installed on RHEL ... you can simply find out if a package is available
from the repositories you have enabled. I know that you have the EPEL repo enabled, so you can find it out with the command sudo yum list i3. It will show you that i3 is available, but not installed. Install the package with sudo yum install i3.

Christian

Thanks for your reply! I’ll start checking the repo the way you told me. I’m sorry I hope I did not bother anyone with my questions. :)

You're welcome ! Of course you don't bother anyone with your questions. :)
I just wanted to give you a hint how to check what's available in your repos.

and for rhel 8?

Hi Martin, EPEL 8 has yet to have this, it seems unless I'm looking in the wrong place. However this link shows it's currently not available for EPEL 8 unfortunately.

i3 is pretty simple and self-contained. I'd be willing to try the F28 or F29 packages on EL8 for that.

Jamie, I think that would probably work, good point.
