I know that you have the EPEL repo enabled, so you can find it out with the command sudo yum list i3. It will show you that i3 is available, but not installed. Install the package with sudo yum install i3. Regards, Christian GD Pro 630 points 11 August 2018 7:12 PM G D Thanks for your reply! I’ll start checking the repo the way you told me. I’m sorry I hope I did not bother anyone with my questions. :) Guru 21985 points 12 August 2018 8:38 AM Christian Labisch Community Leader You're welcome ! Of course you don't bother anyone with your questions. :) I just wanted to give you a hint how to check what's available in your repos. Guru 13966 points 30 August 2019 8:31 PM RJ Hinton Community Leader Hi Martin, EPEL 8 has yet to have this, it seems unless I'm looking in the wrong place. However this link shows it's currently not available for EPEL 8 unfortunately. Regards RJ Red Hat Guru 8967 points 30 August 2019 9:48 PM Jamie Bainbridge i3 is pretty simple and self-contained. I'd be willing to try the F28 or F29 packages on EL8 for that. Guru 13966 points 30 August 2019 11:02 PM RJ Hinton Community Leader Jamie, I think that would probably work, good point.
