The "GFS2" is a cluster aware file system which is suitable and best works within cluster setup. In your case if this is requirement to share files across multiple systems within unix environment then you could rely on nfs.

Is there an alternate to NFS becuase of Perfromance and Staleness of NFS we want to avoid it . we are lookign for somethign similar to OCFS2 . But this is not Oracle Database it is for anothere application .

Ok, may be pNFS is what you are looking for? What is pNFS?

As per the release notes of RHEL7.5, it is fully supported https://access.redhat.com/documentation/en-us/red_hat_enterprise_linux/7/html-single/7.5_release_notes/#new_features_kernel
