yum repolist error on newly registered machine

Latest response

Registered a new client to Sat 6 server and getting the following error while running 'yum repolist'. Looks like subscription working fine because I can get the list of repos.

......../repodata/repomd.xml: [Errno 14] PYCURL ERROR 22 - "The requested URL returned error: 502"

Hi,

Did you try to clear the cache:

# yum clean all

# yum makecache

Also, do you have any errors when running:

# rpm -Vv $(rpm -qf /etc/yum.repos.d/* --qf="%{name}\n" | sort -u) | grep etc/yum.repos.d/ 2>&1 | tee /tmp/listrepos.txt

Im not sure if that is a persistent error. it might be temporary.

"The requested URL returned error: 502"

the 502 means Bad Gateway, so this means your system can get tpo the Redhat server, but the redhat server is having some issues forwarding your traffic. this likley is temporary as ive been in the same situation. im hoping if you try again later you will be able to get through without any error.

The HyperText Transfer Protocol (HTTP) 502 Bad Gateway server error response code indicates that the server, while acting as a gateway or proxy, received an invalid response from the upstream server.
