Firefox Quantum
Hi, I would like to know if Firefox Quantum is available on RedHat 7.5? Thanks! :)
Responses
Well, GD - as I said : "I guess that we will see Firefox 60 ESR (Quantum) somewhat earlier ..." :)
By the way, you can download Firefox 60 and extract it to the /opt directory and run it side by
side with Firefox 52 or replace Firefox 52 with 60 - though it's not supported by Red Hat then.

Christian
Hi GD,
Best will be that I show you how to do it - here is how I tested the replacement of Firefox 52 with Firefox 60 :
sudo cp /usr/share/applications/firefox.desktop /usr/share/applications/firefox-temp.desktop
sudo yum remove firefox
sudo mv /usr/share/applications/firefox-temp.desktop /usr/share/applications/firefox.desktop
cd /opt
sudo wget https://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/firefox/releases/*/linux-x86_64/en-US/firefox-*.tar.bz2
sudo tar xvjf firefox-*.tar.bz2
sudo rm firefox-*.tar.bz2
sudo ln -s /opt/firefox/firefox /usr/bin/firefox
sudo nano /usr/share/applications/firefox.desktop
Exec=/opt/firefox/firefox %u
Icon=/opt/firefox/browser/icons/mozicon128.png
Replace the "*" with the current Firefox download file version, which you will find on the mozilla website. :)

Christian
