[Solved] Cannot register RHEL 7.5 via subscription-manager

Hello folks,

I have some troubles to register a RHEL 7.5 host via subscription-manager. The error message is: "Unable to verify server's identity: ('The read operation timed out',)"

The host is a VirtualBox gues with access to the internet. I can ping subscription.rhsm.redhat.com.

Does anybody know or have an idea what went wrong here and for what reason?

Thanks for updating your original post. I'm glad that it works properly for you now, was just about to provide some suggestions.
I have installed RHEL 7.5 on bare metal and in virtual machines since the day it was released, and everything works as expected.

Hi Nidheesh,

Lemme chime in ... I assume Jörg experienced a temporary internet connection issue with the Red Hat servers.
Just register the system and attach the subscription this way - open a terminal and execute these commands :

sudo subscription-manager register
sudo subscription-manager refresh
sudo subscription-manager attach --auto

subscription-manager register --org="Edgeverve" --activationkey="RHEL7" Unable to verify server's identity: timed out when am trying to register its throwing me error.
