Can we upgrade RHEL 5.6 to 7.3 directly

Hello Arjun,

Advise: Do a reinstall of the operating system, for only some RHEL 6.x upgrades to RHEL 7.y are supported. RHEL 5.z to RHEL 7.y is not supported.

Hi Arjun,

Adding to what Jan Gerrit already said, even it it was (theoretically) possible : you would not want to repair the huge mess, really not. Perform a clean installation of the newest RHEL edition - which since last week is version 7.5 - otherwise you would need to upgrade from RHEL 7.3 to RHEL 7.5 directly after the installation of the system has finished ... and that would not make much sense, right ? :)
