Openstack licenses

Latest response

Hi,

If i'm deploying hyper-converged Openstack on a cluster of servers what licenses do i need? I currently have RHEL, Openstack and i'm being told i also need ceph license (makes sense) and a "smart management" license (i'm using customer satellite server for subscription and content management). Can someone clarify what licenses are needed for such environment.
Tks,
Pedro

..yeah done that.. no replies so far :))!!..

Another question does Openstack license includes some ceph packages ?! . or do i need a ceph separate license to deploy hyperconverged openstack 10

I was wondering these same, so I did some searching and found this document:

https://www.redhat.com/cms/managed-files/ci-red-hat-openstack-platform-solution-overview-f6222cw-201701-en.pdf

It appears Ceph license is required for the Ceph node in an OpenStack deployment. Otherwise OpenStack Platform license (with or without guest) is typically required for each component of Controller, Compute and Undercloud.
