Hi Omar,

The main problem is that you seem to use the base repository of RHEL 7.1, you should upgrade to RHEL 7.4.
Otherwise some packages and dependencies are not matching - hence you receive the yum update errors. :)

Christian

My end customer requires that I use RHEL 7.1. I enabled the following optional repo and yum install is now successful:

subscription-manager repos --enable rhel-7-workstation-optional-rpms

Hi Omar,

First I have posted this as a solution to solve the problem, but after I saw another post from you, which showed me that you already had enabled the optional repository to solve your other problem, I removed my suggestion. Well, I thought that even with the enabled optional repository, you are getting error messages when running yum update. Anyway, good to see that everything is okay for you now. :)

Regards,
Christian
