I cannot register my RHEL 7.4 server

Latest response

Every time I attempt to register my server using the subscription-manager command I receive an error stating "user cannot register with any organizations". I have an active account tied to a support contract with my company. What should I do to resolve this issue?

Hi Greg,

Here is what fixed the registration problem in a lot of such cases ... open a terminal and execute the following commands :

sudo subscription-manager remove --all
sudo subscription-manager unregister
sudo subscription-manager clean

sudo subscription-manager register
sudo subscription-manager refresh
sudo subscription-manager attach --auto

If that doesn't work, please ask your system administrator and let him do it for you or contact Red Hat Customer Support.

Christian

Hi Greg, just curious, are you registering to Red Hat itself, or do you happen to have a Red Hat Satellite server?

If you're registering towards Red Hat itself (not a satellite server), then unregister then reregister as Christian suggested.

However, if you are attempting to register towards a Red Hat Satellite server you own, use this https://access.redhat.com/labs/registrationassistant/#!/, that is a Red Hat Registration assistant, that might help. If it doesn't your subscription is certainly supported to contact Red Hat Customer Service through a support ticket.

The link I provided allows you to enter in the organization if you are using Red Hat Satellite server. Contact support otherwise as Christian said.

-RJ
