Hi Bert,
You can certainly renew your Red Hat Developer Suite subscription without reloading your system. From what I've discovered, (if you have the free version from developers.redhat.com), you have to wait until the day after it expires to do so.
However, please do review this RH discussion at https://access.redhat.com/discussions/2953371 and also this link from https://developers.redhat.com/articles/renew-your-red-hat-developer-program-subscription/. Also See Gordan's comment (scroll down at the bottom of this link) https://access.redhat.com/solutions/1487.
Now there is actually a paid version of the Red Hat Developer's suite, and you can repurchase it prior to expiration (but they give it away at developers.redhat.com).

Hi Bert,
Summing up the useful information that RJ already provided ... if you have the free subscription and everything works as expected -
it should be sufficient to log in to the Red Hat Developer Program and agree to the current T&C's. Your subscription will be updated automatically and you should see this in the Customer Portal.
