RHEL 6.9 Update of the kernel

Just wondering if anyone is having any difficulty on updating RHEL 6.9 to the most recent kernel? All of the systems that I have are VMs supported by managed satellite server. If I allow the systems to update, system fails the file system check on reboot. Thoughts?

Please check the following RHEL KB: https://access.redhat.com/solutions/3312501 It seems that there is a known issue when updating RHEL 6.9 to the most recent kernel: "RHEL 6 XEN guest with kernel-2.6.32-696.18.7.el6.x86_64 hangs on boot". Is your RHEL box a XEN guest?

HI My Current OS : 6.9 My Current kernel version : 2.6.32-696.28.1.el6.x86_64

I would like to patch the system,Could you please let me know which is latest kernel and is there any issues and bugs in new kernel...
