A solution article not accessible

Latest response

I tried to read this article:

RHEL 7.4 server panics with message "kernel BUG at mm/page_alloc.c:1389!"

but got an "Access Denied" message. Could someone at Red Hat look into this?

Hi Akemi,

Do you have a subscription with Standard, Premium or Self support? This determines whether or not you could open a support case.

Jan Gerrit Kootstra

It's Premium. By the way can you access that article?

Sorry, I misunderstood your question. Yes, I could open a support case. But I believe this is just a "mishap" and someone at RH will fix it soon.

Normally it doesn't matter if you have a subscription or not or even whether you are logged in, you still see the first portion of the article with a "Login to read more" button. In this case, it doesn't do that at all, it just has text saying "Access Denied".

On Tuesday a Red Hat associate marked the article as Private. I sent him email asking why it was marked as Private.

Hi Akemi,

I did not understand your issue correctly. I was not able to open the Solution article either.

We have to wait until Marc gets an answer.

If you need a fix for the kernel panic a support case might help you.

If you run into issues again like Access denied for a Knowledge base article, you can open a support case for the Red Hat portal.

Jan Gerrit

Hi Akemi,

I guess Marc's mail worked.

I tried just now, and I can open the article.

Still there is nothing useful in the article at the moment: "Solution in Progress, and a quote of the error message/trace dumps."

Regards,

Jan Gerrit

hello,

I had accidentally marked that article as a Private. I have made it Active again and it should be accessible again.

Sincere apologies for any inconvenience.

Ishan Kulkarni

Thanks for fixing it quickly.
