Product::Other::developers.redhat.com Questions & Feedback How-To

Latest response

Instructional tutorials like this https://developers.redhat.com/products/eap/hello-world/ suggest downloading and installing software manually. Are there repositories for this software that could be accessed with "yum"?

Where could I find descriptions of the disabled repositories which seem to be preconfigured in RHEL 7.4 installation?

subscription-manager repos --list-disabled

Is this the best way to ask such things?

Thank you Adam for your query. JBoss EAP is available as a set of RPMs that can be installed using yum. Assuming your RHEL 7.4 system is properly attached to your subscription, you can run: $ subscription-manager repos --enable=jb-eap-7.0-for-rhel-7-server-rpms and then install it using the following command: $ yum groupinstall jboss-eap7.0 Refer to the RPM Installation section of the official documentation for more details.

For the other part subscription-manager repos --list-disabled is the correct command.

Hi Gaurav,

I just want to mention that even when the system is properly attached, the jb-eap-7.0-for-rhel-7-server-rpms repository must not necessarily be available for Adam's system, because a matching subscription is needed for that.

But Red Hat JBoss Developer Studio 11 is also part of the Red Hat Development Suite now and Adam would have to enable the rhel-7-server-devtools-rpms repository to use it this way and install rh-eclipse47-devstudio.

Regards,
Christian

Thanks,
For copy/paste convenience, as root, the commands are:

subscription-manager repos --enable rhel-7-server-devtools-rpms
yum install rh-devsuite

Hi Adam,

For "even more convenience" ... the Software Collections repository should also be enabled :

sudo subscription-manager repos --enable rhel-server-rhscl-7-rpms

Cheers :)
Christian
