access to VxFS filesystem

Latest response

Good morning,
I downloaded and installed RedHAt 6.9 32-bit Desktop on a PC in order to test its capabilities but I do not know who can not access disks in the VxFS format of Veritas, is there a reason?

Thank you

Please use English. Many community members are foreigners who have learned English, but no other languages.

Hi Narciso,

I advise you to call Veritas in Italy on +39-800098374 to ask how to get the software to mount VxFS filesystems.

your welcome,

please let us know if Veritas provides a product to mount VxFS on Red Hat, we would like to know the product name.

Veritas used to have a free version of Storage Foundation ("Basic Edition"). It was the same as the paid version, except that functionality was limited without the license key (e.g., you were limited to one volume-group and some of the performance-extensions weren't available and you weren't entitled to enterprise support). That said, Veritas pretty much completely dropped 32-bit support for Linux across their entire product line several years ago: even if Veritas is still offering the free version of Storage Foundation, you'd likely need to update your Red Hat system to a 64-bit kernel.
