RHEL Workstation EOL Question
Hello All
Sorry to ask such a basic question but can someone please tell me when red hat 7.2 workstation reaches end of life, i have a lenovo p50 with hybrid graphics or i can switch to discrete quadro m2000m and my laptop is certified for RHEL 7.2.
When does RHEL 7.2 workstation expire ?
Also
If i install 7.2 is it just going to update to 7.4 anyway ?
Currently have 7.4 installed
My reasoning for rolling back is hopefully graphics driver stability and kernel stability the latest 3.10 kernel seems be a bit buggy.
Kind Regards
Ryan

Since workstation is modified version of server (RHEL), or rather built on RHEL, the life cycle of server would be applicable, I believe so. This link would show the life cycle phases and end dates of production, and Extended life cycle support details: https://access.redhat.com/support/policy/updates/errata/#Life_Cycle_Dates
More details about ELS https://access.redhat.com/solutions/690063
Also, please note ELS is not available for Workstation https://access.redhat.com/solutions/69721
Hi Sadashiva Murthy M,
This half the answer Ryan needs. Getting Red Hat Support to work on a Case would be an issue. @Ryan: If you just install RHEL 7.2 and do not run yum update the laptop would stay on RHEL 7.2. Running yum install on a rpm without specifying a version/release number yum will install a RHEL 7.4 related rpm version.

As long as someone has an active Standard or Premium entitlement for the product they're using, technical support is available to them. We'll show you how to use and configure, we'll troubleshoot problems until they are resolved, anything else within the Scope of Coverage.
However if you stay on 7.2 forever and you encounter some issue which is resolved in a later minor version, then you will need to update to the latest relevant package to resolve that issue.
The Extended Update Support (EUS) offering, which provides updates into minor versions for an additional ~2 years, is only available on the server product, not on the desktop product. So there will be no 7.2.z updates to RHEL Workstation ever again.
