Odd Performance from AIDE
I've been seeing a problem on one of our RHEL 6 servers recently wherein a daily scheduled AIDE check hangs up and occupies a significant percentage of system resources indefinitely. The issue is persistent, meaning that the cron jobs stack, eventually exhausting the system resources until they are manually killed. I have tried a number of things, from reinstalling AIDE to exempting certain files/directories which it seems to hang on. So far, no results. Has anyone seen this kind of behavior before?
Thanks!
