Change is lsof v4.82 and v4.87.

Hello,
It appears things have change from version 6.8 RHEL lsof V4.82 and version 7.3 RHEL lsof v4.87. The output has changed and it appears we have added additional columns like TID. But one of the other outcomes that has changes is the number open files it reports when just running lsof | wc -l. On our box it's millions of files. I want to know if this is outcome and should we worried about the FD counts?
