How To Edit Satellite 5.8-generated Kickstart File?

Latest response

Hi,

I am trying to create a custom kickstart with Satellite 5.8. If I use the Satellite UI to create the kickstart I have many tabs where I can set partitioning, packages, etc BUT I cannot edit the kickstart file itself.

If I upload a kickstart file to the Satellite, I do not get the same tabs BUT I can edit the kickstart file.

The problem is the Satellite-generated kickstart defaults to skipx and I want the X server and the Gnome desktop to start by default but I the UI does not present a way to change this.

Any ideas? I contacted the live chat but they gave me a link to the Satellite 6.0 transition guide which was not helpful at all.

Thanks!

Jim

skipx should be located under the Advanced Configuration tab (I'm doing this from memory) along with all the other Advanced items. You can disable skipx on that tab.
