RHEL7 install

Latest response

When I install RHEL 7 using hard drive it is going to emergency mode and reporting /dev/root is missing.

In RHEL 6 there is a need of "install.img and product.img must be the only files in the images/ directory along with the ISO file. However not sure if any such things required here with RHEL 7 install.

Kindly suggest.

Entering emergency mode. Exit the shell to continue.
Type "journalctl" to view system logs.
You might want to save "/run/initramfs/rdsosreport.txt" to a USB stick or /boot after mounting them and attach it to a bug report

I'm not sure what caused the problem you're seeing, but an installation from a hard drive only requires the installation ISO image -- no other files. See 2.3.2. Installation Source on a Hard Drive in the Installation Guide.

Robert, could you please help with network installation?

I try to install the RHEL 7.3 via network, and see the same error message, could you please clarify ? what else should be specified in petitboot menu - boot parameters ( although I have http://vmlinuz and http://initrd.img path specified.)
