satellite tools Error: rhel-*-satellite-tools-*-rpms does not match a valid repository ID

Latest response

When provisioning a server with the discovery image, i get the error:

Error: rhel--satellite-tools--rpms does not match a valid repository ID
(see:)

It worked before but now it doesnt work anymore. I also didnt upgrade the satellite server.
Even manually registering a server doesnt work.
The repository is added to my content view and visible on the satellite server. (also in /var/lib/pulp)

Any ideas what can de wrong?

Attachment is missing. Which version of Satellite server?

This KB might help. Unable to enable Red Hat Satellite 6.2 repositories using subscription-manager

Hi!

i've added the screenshot. satellite version is 6.2.9. i already had the issue in 6.2.8 so upgrading didnt cause it. I think it has something to do with the EPEL repository. Seems like when i enable both EPEL and the tools repo, then this is happening. When i publish a new version of the content view, then it works as expected.

TAB VM,

There may be a conflict between the EPEL and the Satellite tool repository, though I'm not sure where.

Be aware that use of EPEL repositories is, I believe, an unsupported configuration. It may be that packages from the EPEL repository replace Red Hat-supplied packages, resulting in an unsupported configuration. What it is you are installing from the EPEL repository?
