Unable to connect to graphic server

Latest response

I keep getting this error message when trying to connect to a VDI machine (see attached screen shot):

"Unable to connect to the graphic server"

RHEVM environment is RHEV 4.0; RHEL 7 workstation virtual machines; the virt-viewer client is downloaded from the RHEV manager

This is a new environment. Initial testing was done on a network local to the RHEV manager; everything appears to be working correctly in that environment.

The issues are encountered when users on an external network try to access the VDI machines. The attached screen shot shows what they are seeing - this error does not occur on the network local to the RHEVM.

Our firewall guy doesn't see any traffic being blocked/dropped by the firewall.

Not sure where to go from here.

Screenshot is missing.

When the environment was setup, did you open ports on firewalls to permit connections from the external network? Test if ports are open by running telnet from a system on the external network. telnet x.x.x.x port (replace x.x.x.x with IP address in the RHEV environment, replace port with a port number).

In the event there are firewalls on the RHEVM side and also the external network side, ports would need to be opened on both.

Actually the fix was rather simple - there was no SPICE proxy configured. We had a functioning SPICE proxy from an existing environment that could be utilized and everything started working correctly after pointing to that.

Thanks for updating Paul. Good you got it working.
