multiple RHV managers

Latest response

Hi,

On RHV 4.x (or any previous RHEV 3.x), is it possible to have multiple (more than 1 or even just 2) RHV managers.
I am not referring to restoring on a new machine a previously backed up manager configuration.
I really mean having an environment that you administer simultaneously and indistinctly from RHVM1 and RHVM2.

From their first answer it seems to not be possible.

Hi TSHIMANGA Minkoka,

As of now multiple RHV-Managers is not possible to manage a set common hypervisors simultaneously. Do you have a specific use-case? I would recommend sharing that with our support engineers via the ticket that you have opened - so that we can raise a feature request on your behalf with our engineering team.

Having said that - You can have 2 distinct options from below for RHV environment management: 1) Self-Hosted Engine : Which is RHV-Manager in an HA setup. 2) Using individual hosts Cockpit interface.

I hadn't thought of option 2 now that cockpit does have some control over the VMs now. Thats just what RHV-H needed, a basic UI to control VMs from without the manager running. I hope more functionality comes in the future to compete with the esxi one
