packages or kmod required to access usb disk on virtualbox

Latest response

RHEL7 server is running as a guest on win 10 host.
What are the packages and or kmod required to access the usb disk connected through virtualbox ?
I am able to connect and mount it fine from a centos 7 live cd, but the rhel 7.3 server install give usc error.

a dmesg shows something like this upon connecting the USB drive: [ 152.934055] usb 1-3: new high-speed USB device number 5 using xhci_hcd [ 153.247903] usb 1-3: New USB device found, idVendor=0bc2, idProduct=5021 [ 153.247908] usb 1-3: New USB device strings: Mfr=1, Product=2, SerialNumber=3 [ 153.247911] usb 1-3: Product: FreeAgent GoFlex [ 153.247914] usb 1-3: Manufacturer: Seagate [ 153.247917] usb 1-3: SerialNumber: NA0ETWSQ [ 153.282390] uas: Unknown symbol usb_stor_sense_invalidCDB (err 0) [ 153.282424] uas: Unknown symbol usb_stor_adjust_quirks (err 0)

also tried if EFI had anything to do with this, so modified grub and gpt to disable efi and then boot. Still the condition is the same.

Is your CentOS live CD also 7.3 (actually 7.3.1611)? And both CentOS and RHEL were tried on the same Win 10 host?

Yes this was on the same host win 10 with Centos 7.3 1611. Finally yesterday at last just reinstalled rhel 7.3 , with the change that I did not choose to install KDE packages and backup software packages group. The very same USB disk now gets recognized and works fine in the reinstalled VM instance. This is strange and wonder if anyone else saw it as well ?
