How to install devtoolset-4

Latest response

Hi I have a problem to install the Red Hat Developer Toolset, I have tried the following command

yum install devtoolset-x

with x=1.1, 2, 3, 4,

But i get always the same answer :

No package devtoolset-4 available.

I know that I should enable the optional channel, and I have enabled almost all package in the subscription manager.

What should I do?
Greetings.

Hi Giovanni,

To get access to Red Hat Developer Toolset, you need to have one of the subscriptions that include it. Can you please look at the list of product subscriptions and entitlements to verify that you do indeed have it? Once you verify that you do, you can follow the instructions on how to enable the required repositories and proceed to install the devtoolset-4 package as you intended, the command you used is correct.

OK, it seems that there is a problem with list of product subscriptions and entitlements, in fact when I type :

subscription-manager list --available

I get

No available subscription pools to list
-DELL does not tell to peoples which kind of subscription they put inside the workstation-

Now, to be honest, I needed the detoolset only for install eclipse, do you know a reliable guide for install it?

yum install eclipse -does not work already tried-.

Thank you for the answer. Greetings

Can you please try listing the subscriptions you already have so that I can see what your options are? To do so, run the following command:

subscription-manager list --consumed

Thank you for the answer. The command give the following subscription.

                 Red Hat Enterprise Linux Workstation
                 Oracle Java (for RHEL Client)
Red Hat Software Collections Beta (for RHEL Workstation)
                 Oracle Java (for RHEL Workstation)
dotNET on RHEL Beta (for RHEL Server)
                 Red Hat Beta
dotNET on RHEL (for RHEL Server)

May I ask, what "Subscription Name" or "Provides" should be listed in order to install devtools? I'm having the same problem installing devtoolset-3 or devtoolset-4 even though my --consumed command includes Red Hat Enterprise Linux Developer Suite
