OpenStack Platform 8 and Opendaylight

Latest response

Can anyone give me some hints on how to install and configure Opendaylight in Red Hat OpenStack Platform 8? I can see there is a rpm (opendaylight-1.0.0-2.el7ost.noarch.rpm) for this. However, how should I install it? What do I need to configure further?

Thanks,

According to Red Hat, documents for integrating opendaylight with RHOS 8 would be available once RHOS 8 GA is released:

Documentation for integrating OpenStack and OpenDayLight

But RHOS 8 GA looks to be available from "April 20, 2016" as per the Openstack life cycle: Red Hat OpenStack Platform Life Cycle

Someone from Red Hat team should look into this and tell if there is any documentation available for installation opendaylight on RHOS 8.

Yes, think so. My goal is to start understanding how we can benefit from using Opendaylight on a Red Hat OpenStack platform 8. Using yum I have installed the .rpm package. But I can't get to Dlux interface so I am not sure if it "by design" or if I am missing any step. Anyway, most of the Opendaylight/OpenStack integrations follows different paths and feature set. As it is "Red Hat", I think the info should come from Red Hat.

Let's wait. Maybe people at Red Hat are cooking the documentation.

Hello,

With Red Hat OpenSatck Platfrom 10, we have updated our OpenDaylight offering and it now includes a tight integration with the Red Hat OpenStack Platform director for orchestrated installation and management. The key OpenDaylight project used in the Red Hat solution is NetVirt.

For more information, please refer to the OpenDaylight Product Guide and Installation and Configuration Guide.
