Cannot connect Xserver

Latest response

When connecting to Xserver using Xshell from windows, its giving error.

X connection to localhost:10.0 broken (explicit kill or server shutdown).

My RHEL is 5.4. We have set YES to xforwarding in /etc/sshd_config. But these display working comfortably as root user.

This can be symptomatic of not having permission to the X virtual framebuffer. Typically, Xauth takes care of setting up the requisite permissions, but it's something to check.

Similarly, if you have SELinux enabled, it can interfere with X connections if your user's SEL-profile isn't mapped to the appropriate roles/contexts.
