Upgrade from Redhat 6 to Redhat 7

Latest response

I've followed this https://access.redhat.com/documentation/en-US/Red_Hat_Enterprise_Linux/7/html/Migration_Planning_Guide/chap-Red_Hat_Enterprise_Linux-Migration_Planning_Guide-Upgrading.html

When i did part 7 yum repolist it still list

rhel-6-server-rpms/7Server/x86_64 Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6 Server (RPMs) 0

How do I change it to list RHEL 7?

Hello, did you try what it says for Step 7 "Check system status"? I see under "If your repolist did not update correctly, perform the following commands: " it gives a few commands, but does not explain how to find the pool ID. If you follow the first three steps then search for a suitable pool ID you should be able to complete the procedure. To list the subscriptions that are available for your system:

# subscription-manager list --available

Yes I did [root@UT188331 yum.repos.d]# cat /etc/redhat-release Red Hat Enterprise Linux Server release 7.0 (Maipo) [root@UT188331 yum.repos.d]# yum repolist rhel-6-server-rpms/7Server/x86_64 Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6 Server (RPMs) 0

I also ran those suggested commands with the poolid but when i list out available repo, it only list out RHEL 6 and not 7 so I was not able to enter the command for subscription-manager repos --enable=rhel-7-server-rpms

Fixed the problem by reinstalling yum and Gnome

thank you for letting us know.
