How to create a symlink for jboss apps

I have a web application and the name of my app is church you can find it associated with my account. Now i need a technical help; I am storing some images in the data dir which is outside my webapps; I dont want to create servlets but want to access the images stored in the data dir using the tag. I guess i can access these images directly using an if i create a symlink... can someone from the technical team help.
