RHEL 6 fails to load install.img during PXE boot

Latest response

I am trying to load RHEL using PXE boot over the network. I am able to install RHEL 7.2 successfully. However, with both 6.4 and 6.6 I run into the following issue. The kernal and initrd are loaded succesfully, and then the product.img is loaded. When it goes to load the install.img file, it always hangs up along the way.

I would double check and make sure your hardware can run 6.4 and 6.6

I hope permission is not an issue over there, just a guess...

Some newer hardware needed specific boot options on 6.x in order to avoid a random hang that did not usually happen immediately, but usually soon enough after boot to interrupt the installer at some stage or other. I think a fix for that got included in the 6.7 kernel.

Unfortunately I don't recall the exact hardware/option combination that I had this problem on 6.x systems.
