You need to provide more details if you expect a useful answer.

What is generating that error? are you seeing that error in the MySQL log? or in an application log (Openshift or something you are deploying)? What is the application written in (node?)?

What is the OS you are connecting to? and the version of MySQL (or Openshift)?

Are there any load balancers/firewalls between the host with the error and the MySQL server? is it on the same host as the application?

Is name resolution working correctly on the server generating this error?
