Red Hat Satellite Capsule Server functions to scale out a Red Hat Satellite installation. I cannot be deployed standalone (i.e., without a Satellite Server)

My client have only Red Hat Satellite Capsule Licence. can i installe REd Hat Satellite with his Capsule's licence ?

Best regards

All,

Based on the quote from the installation manual of RH Satellite 6.1:

https://access.redhat.com/documentation/en-US/Red_Hat_Satellite/6.1/html/Installation_Guide/chap-Red_Hat_Satellite-Installation_Guide-Installing_Red_Hat_Satellite_Capsule_Server.html#sect-Red_Hat_Satellite-Installation_Guide-Installing_Red_Hat_Satellite_Capsule_Server-Red_Hat_Satellite_Capsule_Server_Scalability The Satellite Capsule Server is a means to scale out the Satellite installation. Organizations can create various capsules in different geographical locations where the data centers are located. These are centrally managed through the Satellite Server. When a Satellite user promotes content to the production environment, the Satellite Server will push the content from the Satellite Server to each of the Satellite Capsule Servers. Host systems pull content and configuration from the Satellite Capsule Servers in their location and not from the central Satellite Server.

I can only conclude that a Capsule is an add-on to a RH Satellite server environment, so a standalone object. This in contrast to the Red Hat Proxy 5.x which could also be configured to connect to RHN without a RH Satellite.
