Looking for Advice to Deploy Oracle 12c on Redhat 6.7 Physical and Virtual Servers
I have to deploy about 10 physical Oracle 12c database/Redhat 6.7 servers and about 40 virtual ones in a VMWare 5.5 environment.
RAC will be deployed as well.
I am a Redhat newbie.
I am looking for advice\suggestions on the best ways to accomplish this.
Is it possible to create an image and deploy it to the physical servers or at the very least a scripted install?
Is it possible to create a VMWare template for the virtual servers?

There is a great number of ways to achieve this but I would say none of them are going to be super easy to set up in the first place. My goal would be to possibly create a Puppet module that does the majority of the configuration for you. However, if this is a one-time thing and not likely to occur frequently in the future it may not be worth the learning curve of Puppet. Configuring one system most of the way you need it for a base Oracle server and making that a virtual template is certainly a viable solution that will save you a lot of time (considering 40 virtuals to build) but won't be a 100% solution.
You could possibly capture the various commands and things you do whilst building your first virtual, paste those commands into the basic kickstart file (/root/anaconda-ks.cfg) %post section and then use that kickstart file while standing up your physicals. You'll probably have to make a custom install ISO with the kickstart file built in. I've never done this, personally, but a quick search gave me this page (http://www.softpanorama.org/Commercial_linuxes/RHEL/Installation/Kickstart/modifing_iso_image_to_include_kickstart_file.shtml) which may or may not be useful since I didn't read it for accuracy.
