Satellite 6.x Content View include packages

Latest response

Hi,

I'm building new servers based on a frozen content view named "RHEL72".
How can I add a new version of a specific package to my content view.

Using an include filter will only provide that specific package but not the base repositories in "RHEL72".
A package exclude filter by date does not exist.
I also tried a composite content view (RHEL72 + package). But you can't have the same repository in different content views.

many thanks

Hi Jeurgen,

Could you not create a CV with the following properties?

Exclude filter: Exclude errata start date: 2015-11-19

Include filter: Package: foo-version

The date chosen in the view is taken from Red Hat Solution 3078

You may need to exclude some additional errata, since zero-day errata will be released on the day RHEL 7.2 was made available. (I had a similar question in this discussion which you might find useful)

Richard.

Hi Richard,

Thanks for the input. I'm going through the links to find out if there is a solution for my problem. I also found "https://access.redhat.com/sites/default/files/pages/attachments/2015-10_Steps_to_Build_a_Standard_Operating_Environment.pdf". There is a lot of useful stuff in there as well. Coming back soon. Juergen

Ok "Use Case 4) Incremental Updates - Apply Selected Errata to Hosts" in document 10 Steps to Build an SOE solves my problem. Applying a single errata to one of the content hosts will build a minor version of my CV and add the packages associated with this errata. Thanks for your help Richard.
