Unable to install python-ldap using pip

Hi,

I'm trying to install python-ldap using pip but I got the following error:

error: command 'gcc' failed with exit status 1

Has anyone run into this before? I'm on Rehat 5.11 and using python 2.7.10 in a virtualenv environment.
