Jboss EAP 6.3 DataGuard and FCF configuration & support

Environment:
Red Hat Linux 7
JBoss EAP 6.3
Oracle DB 12c
ojdbc7.jar

Hello,

Although I have read this post: https://access.redhat.com/solutions/42463.

It's still unclear if just by configuring the connection-url with the specific URL would provide the FCF functionality or do I still need the "unsupported" Oracle UCP?
Is ONS configuration still required? How to configure it?
