How to reboot via Satellite 6.1.3?

Latest response

I'm able to push out updates to systems, but for the life of me I cannot figure out how to get the systems to reboot after applying the updates. And I'm not able to find this information in the documentation.

Hello

Try:

$ hammer discovery reboot -id <id>

So what you're saying is that even though I can push updates to all of my servers via the web GUI, I still need to manually issue a reboot? Why?

I am not saying that at all. Please contact your support representative or open a case to ask that.

I think this is still an unsupported (or non-existent) feature in Satellite 6 - I've had a case open since last year requesting feature parity with Satellite 5.x (add back the ability to "reboot" a client or group of clients via the Satellite web GUI). Haven't checked the release notes for 6.1.3 yet, but also haven't seen my case updated (so I'm assuming it's not there yet--would love to be wrong though!)

There is work in progress on project which could solve your issues. http://theforeman.org/plugins/foreman_remote_execution/0.0/index.html

The code which Jakub references will be included with Satellite 6.2. Remote exectution will be the terms used to describe that feature.
