Synchronizing rpms not in a yum repo

Latest response

I've been keeping local mirrors of certain repositories to save on bandwidth. One of the products I want to keep locally doesn't provide a yum repository, rather has rpms on a http share.
Is it possible to have Satellite just grab the rpms (either all of them, or the ones I tell it) without the source being an actual yum repo?

Hi Abe,
In a past life I had to do something similar to what you are describing. Fortunately the source I was pulling allowed rsync so I saved bandwidth that way. You could put together a script that would grab an index of the html directory and do a diff and pull down the missing files and then recreate your repo with the new files.
--> Pull source (rsync or wget)
--> Create the local repo (createrepo)
--> Sync local repo to Satellite (spacewalk-repo-sync)
