nfs-rquotad.service for RHEL7 is currently missing.

Latest response

Today's puzzlement is trying to figure out where nfs-rquotad.service went for RHEL7? I found this closed bz:

Bug 1164057

which contains this quote: "unfortunately, while the systemd entry for rquotad has been removed from nfs-utils, it has not yet been added to the quota package.
So if you upgrade nfs-utils, you lose rquotad."

Yikes! Indeed.

$ yum whatprovides nfs-rquotad
1:nfs-utils-1.3.0-0.el7.x86_64 : NFS utilities and supporting clients and
: daemons for the kernel NFS server
Repo : rhel-x86_64-server-7
Matched from:
Filename : /usr/lib/systemd/system/nfs-rquotad.service

$ rpm -q nfs-utils
nfs-utils-1.3.0-0.8.el7.x86_64

So it was removed in the latest nfs-utils, but the quota package does not have it!

$ rpm -ql quota | grep systemd
$

Any Updates on this Red Hat??

Still no fix and the bugzilla contains lots of rearranging the deck chairs. And of course, there are no Red Hat Mangement, who are always nameless, to chime in to explain why this was not a regression.

Hi folks, I'd like to apologise for both for the regression - which it clearly is - and the time it took to address it. We've got an errata in progress now.

Whew, thank you! https://rhn.redhat.com/errata/RHBA-2016-0557.html
