  • RHEL7 as host in NESTED-KVM configuration - networking problem

    Posted on

    Hello.

I have a physical RHEL7 host with nested kvm option enabled. I have installed two kvm VMs:

    • rhev-m - RHEL6.6 with RHEV 3.5.1
    • rhev-h1 - RHEV-H 6.6 20150603.0

Both VMs are connected to external network via single physical interface on the basis of macvtap driver. These VMs are connected to two other private networks too. There are no problems with connectivity to the external network and to the private ones.

I installed a RHEL6 VM in this RHEV environment and launched it on rhev-h1 host (which is kvm VM run on top of RHEL7 physical host as described above). This VM can communicate without problems on the private networks. However there is no connectivity to the external network.

When the physical host was RHEL6 all worked fine.

Could anyone provide me a hint how to troubleshoot the issue?

    Marek
