My searches have been unsuccessful. Can someone provide a link?
Thanks in advance.

The link has no ppc64le downloads.

Note that Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7.1 introduces support for the Power, Little Endian architecture. To download the Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7.1 for Power, Little Endian beta, please visit http://red.ht/1GhqIbv.
..
The architecture dropdown does not include ppc64le so either it's an anomaly of the portal or ppc64le was not included in the official release of RHEL 7.1
I have a Power8 system, now looking for the 7.1 iso

Hi Thomas,

It's not exactly intuitive, but on the download page, you need to select Red Hat Enterprise Linux for Power, little endian from the Product Variant drop-down. Then the Architecture drop-down automatically switches to ppc64le.

The direct link to the download page is https://access.redhat.com/downloads/content/279/ver=/rhel---7/7.1/ppc64le/product-downloads.

See also Is there a Little-Endian (LE) version of Red Hat Enterprise Linux available for PowerPC processors?.

Thank you. Downloading now

it's not there anymore... where can I get it these days ?

I just checked, and all seems to be in order. Are you seeing some error message? The link to the latest version is always https://access.redhat.com/downloads/content/279/.

Hi Robert, just out of curiosity : when I paste -> https://access.redhat.com/downloads/content/279/ into a browser, it opens : https://access.redhat.com/downloads/content/69/ver=/rhel---7/7.3/x86_64/product-software ... there is no option for the version Thomas is looking for available. Am I just "too blind to see" ?

Very strange. I just tried in a new incognito window just to make sure there are no other factors, and it works as expected. One needs to be logged in to the Customer Portal, but that's the case for both the PPC and x86 downloads.

When I go to https://access.redhat.com/downloads/content/69/, I can open the Product Variant drop-down and select Red Hat Enterprise Linux for Power, little endian, which takes me to https://access.redhat.com/downloads/content/279/.

Anyway, if this doesn't work for you, I suggest you check your entitlements and if all seems to be in order, file a support ticket.

Thanks for the response - is it possible that editions being offered depend on the subscription you have ?

Christian, you're right -- I should've checked before. There really is a different subscription for the PPC LE variant: Red Hat Enterprise Linux for IBM Power Little Endian (as opposed to Red Hat Enterprise Linux Server).

Thank you very much for clarification, Robert - very useful information for other users reading the post ! :)

https://access.redhat.com/downloads/content/279/ver=/rhel---7/7.1/ppc64le/product-software would send you directly to the product, it seems to be a product under the RHEL subscription.

Hi Jan, it is just the same what happens, right as described in my reply to Robert's post above - when I paste the direct link https://access.redhat.com/downloads/content/279/ver=/rhel---7/7.1/ppc64le/product-software into a browser, it opens : https://access.redhat.com/downloads/content/69/ver=/rhel---7/7.3/x86_64/product-software ... quite strange indeed ...

Hi Jan, just to clarify, when you use the short version of the URL (ending with the number (279, 69, ...)), it always automatically points at the latest available version of the download.

Hi Robert,

That was Thomas issue, he could find the URL that is why I gave him a full URL. If that does not open, he probably does not have a suitable subscription.

Kind regards,

Jan Gerrit

It appears that the Power PC little-endian distribution has been orphaned?

I/we still see the big-endian distribution as available, but little-endian is no longer a selectable option on the Red Hat download page, and RH Satellite 6.1 shows the Power LE repository as:

-> Red Hat Enterprise Linux for Power little endian (Orphaned)

Has the LE distribution actually been discontinued by Red Hat?
