Latest response

I have installed red hat 7 in physical server and also registered the subscription.
and I have reinstalled the server with vmware, on top of this vmware I want to install redhat but I have problem could not subscribe my license.
is there any solution to unsubscribe the redhat in previous server ?

Responses

Yes, by running `subscription-manager unregister'.

There is more to it when you have an earlier version registered, say 6.7 before and trying to register 7.2"

subscription-manager unregister responds with

System has been unregistered.

trying to use yum I get

You can use subscription-manager to assign subscriptions. There are no enabled repos. Run "yum repolist all" to see the repos you have. You can enable repos with yum-config-manager --enable

then I get

yum repolist all

what is the correct sequence of steps?

After running "subscription-manager register", check the status by running "subscription-manager list --consumed". You may need to attach your subscriptions manually. If that's the case, see https://access.redhat.com/documentation/en-US/Red_Hat_Subscription_Management/1/html/RHSM/sub-cli.html for details. Also, are you sure your subscriptions are still valid? If not, please contact Red Hat Support.
