Due to license/patent issues, no such package is available in Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7. You can, however, find third-party repos, unsupported by Red Hat in any way, that contain the needed software rebuilt for RHEL 7 or Fedora.

Thanks for the info Radek.
Would you happen to know of any third-party repos?

Guy

I've done some searching and the following repo seems to be the most comprehensive at the moment:

http://li.nux.ro/repos.html

I haven't tried it, but once you have this repo, I think the necessary GStreamer plug-ins should get installed automatically (by PackageKit-gstreamer-plugin) when they're needed. Alternatively, you can install VLC (package vlc), which should support virtually all codecs.

Again, neither this repo nor these external plug-ins/packages are endorsed by Red Hat, and they can be rather controversial in certain countries. Please keep that in mind.

I use nux's repos and haven't had any issues since finding him early in the RHEL6 days.

I second this. It is being actively maintained and the maintainer is easy to reach.
