WiFi does not reconnect on standby resume or after idle period expires

Posted on

I'm not sure if this is a lenovo-specific or something more general.

When my Thinkpad T440s is idle for a few minutes it appears the WiFi is turned off to save power, however, when waking the computer from the idle state, the system comes back up but the WiFi does not reconnect. The same happens when waking up from sleep/standby mode.

If I use the Gnome GUI to power cycle the WiFi, I am able to reconnect, howver, this should happen automatically.
