VirtualBox-4.3-4.3.20 won' t start a VM due to failing vboxdrv setup on Maipo

Latest response

Hi all,
Just installed "Red Hat Enterprise Linux Server release 7.1 Beta (Maipo)"
with

kernel-debug-devel-3.10.0-123.13.2.el7.x86_64
kernel-3.10.0-210.el7.x86_64
kernel-tools-libs-3.10.0-210.el7.x86_64
abrt-addon-kerneloops-2.1.11-18.el7.x86_64
kernel-headers-3.10.0-210.el7.x86_64
kernel-devel-3.10.0-123.13.2.el7.x86_64
kernel-tools-3.10.0-210.el7.x86_64

When trying to start a VM, the messages appears:

Makefile:183: *** Error: unable to find the sources of your current Linux kernel. Specify KERN_DIR=<directory> and run Make again.

Did find errors in VirtualBox install log gcc was not found.
Trying to install gcc.x86_64 0:4.8.2-16.2.el7_0, these dependency errors occured:

Error: Package: glibc-2.17-55.el7_0.3.i686 (rhel-7-server-rpms)

           Installed: glibc-common-2.17-72.el7.x86_64 (@anaconda/7.1)
               glibc-common = 2.17-72.el7

           Available: glibc-common-2.17-55.el7_0.3.x86_64 (rhel-7-server-rpms)
               glibc-common = 2.17-55.el7_0.3

I better not downgrade glibc-common from 72 down to 55

Anyone has a solution as to how to get gcc installed correctly?

gcc in RHEL 7.1 beta is 4.8.3-9.el7. Looks like you are trying to install gcc from RHEL 7.0.

I started with a fresh 7.1 install
yum install gcc
Loaded plugins: langpacks, product-id, subscription-manager

Is there a seperate repo for this beta release ?
