Jboss EAP 6.2 Installation question

Latest response

I am installing JBOSS EAP 6.2 from the GUI install jar.
After adding all information and starting the install, the installer seems to "hang"
I never get a completion message or screen.
This is true also with the CLI install.
Is this normal or is something NOT being completed?

Thanks in advance.

Mike,

What you are experiencing is definitely NOT normal. I'm confident we can find what's going wrong.

Please provide some more details of your environment, including:

  • Operating system on which you are running the installer.
  • Version number and maker (IBM, Oracle etc) of the installed JDK.

Be sure you have met all the installation prerequisites [1] and followed the instructions at [2].

Hi Russell Thanks for getting back to me.

Here is the details you ask for about my environment.

redhat-release
Red Hat Enterprise Linux Server release 7.0 (Maipo)

JBoss EAP 6.2.0.GA (AS 7.3.0.Final-redhat-14)

java -version
java version "1.7.0_65"
OpenJDK Runtime Environment (rhel-2.5.1.2.el7_0-x86_64 u65-b17)
OpenJDK 64-Bit Server VM (build 24.65-b04, mixed mode)

Mike,

Sorry for replying so late. Could you please provide the configuration options you are entering in response to the GUI installer or CLI installer? I'm wondering if the problem might be lack of permissions to the directory to which you're wanting to install JBoss EAP.

Ideally, please provide a "log" of your attempt to install using the CLI installer, also a screenshot of the GUI installer (minus any sensitive information).
