An in-place upgrade provides a way of upgrading a system to a new major release of Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) by replacing the existing operating system.

In-place upgrade from RHEL 7 to RHEL 8

A path for an automated in-place upgrade is going to be provided only for the latest even number RHEL 8 minor version, for example RHEL 8.2.
