Migrating a RHEL 6 Self-signed IdM Server to a RHEL 7 IdM Server with an Integrated CA

Using the steps below, you can migrate your Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6-based Identity Management (IdM) server with a self-signed certificate authority (CA) to a new Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7 server with an integrated CA.

  1. Create a Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7 replica of the Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6 server. See Upgrading Identity Management.

  2. Remove the Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6 server. See Uninstalling IdM Servers and Replicas.

  3. Run the ipa-ca-install utility on the Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7 replica. See Installing a CA Into an Existing IdM Domain.
