Topic
An updated version of Red Hat Update Infrastructure (RHUI) is now available. RHUI 4.10.1 fixes an issue with SCA (Simple Content Access) type of content certificate that most of the RHUI users have been switched to.
Description
Red Hat Update Infrastructure (RHUI) provides a highly scalable and redundant framework for managing repositories and content. It also allows cloud providers to deliver content and updates to Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) instances.
This RHUI update fixes the following bug:
- With this update, RHUI accepts a Simple Content Access entitlement certificate and correctly updates all repositories with it, allowing them to keep synchronizing.
Users of RHUI are advised to upgrade to these updated packages that fix this bug.
Note: rhui-installer version has not changed from 4.10. Only the version of rhui-tools has been increased to 4.10.1.
Solution
Before applying this update, make sure all previously released errata relevant
to your system have been applied.
There are two ways to apply this update:
1. Rerun the installer:
# rhui-installer --rerun
Note: because there is no newer rhui-installer version in this update, it is really only sufficient to rerun the current installer.
2. Update RHUI tools:
# dnf -y update rhui-tools
Then, either way, refresh the entitlement certificate:
# subscription-manager refresh --force
This is especially important if your account has already been switched to SCA and your RHUA reports errors synchronizing repositories.
Next, wait for the next execution of the RHUI subscription synchronization cron job, which runs at the top of the hour. Optionally, run the script from the cron job immediately:
# rhui-subscription-sync
Note: it can take tens of minutes.
Finally, wait for all the repositories to re-synchronize. This takes place according to the schedule, and up to six hours can pass before the next synchronization of any repository. Optionally, force their immediate re-synchronization:
# rhui-manager repo sync_all
In any case it can take several hours until all repositories report success.
